Staying in Sintra, Lisbon or Cascais? All-Inclusive includes hotel pickup and return. Personalized tours meet in Sintra, with private transfers available as an extra. Your starting point alone does not decide which format suits you.

How much time do you have?
Four hours suits one clear priority and a compact route. Eight hours gives you more room for visits, breaks and the coast. Check whether travel from your hotel uses part of that time.

We usually recommend one monument with the coast. More visits are possible when they suit your priorities and the available time.

The most intensive option, with more walking and journeys. Choose it because you love the visits, rather than to complete a list.
These are Full-Day planning models. The final balance depends on entry times, season, travel and your group's pace. A Pena terraces visit counts as a monument visit here; it does not mean entering the palace rooms. Your return can be adapted during planning if you are staying in Sintra or Cascais.
Our Pena recommendation is the terraces. A monument visit does not always mean a tour of palace rooms.
For colour, views & the iconic setting

Our recommendation: the terraces. Enjoy the colours, architecture and views without making the room-by-room palace visit the focus.
Choose Visit to the Park of Pena, which includes the terraces. Palace rooms are a different visit. There is still walking between the park entrance and the palace.
Our usual first recommendation for stories and symbolism. Give the gardens, tunnels and details time, rather than making the Initiation Well your only stop.
Expect slopes, uneven paths and steps. Your timed ticket admits you to the estate; it does not reserve a separate time at the well.
The palace with the two white chimneys, right in the historic centre. Choose it for royal rooms, decorated ceilings, tiles and the stories of Portugal's court.
A convenient town-centre visit: easy to combine with exploring the old town, with much of the visit indoors. Check accessibility details for your group if steps are a concern.
A nineteenth-century house with distinctive roofs, richly decorated rooms and a leafy park. A lovely option if architecture and a less obvious Sintra visit appeal to you.
Moderate walking: leave time for the park as well as the rooms. Check the visit details and choose a route to suit your group's walking preferences.

Regaleira identifies regaleira.byblueticket.pt as its only authorised online ticket platform.
Put the route before the tickets. A palace-room entry slot at Pena is different from reaching the park entrance. Regaleira's slot is for entering the estate. Leave time for walking, travel and queues between visits.
Booking a YYD tour? All-Inclusive includes the agreed monument tickets, arranged by the team. Personalized guests buy their tickets separately with our timing guidance. Coordinate your route first and avoid buying the same admission twice.

Is the tour entirely private?
Yes. Your guide and tour transport are for your own group. You will not be combined with unrelated travellers.
Does our guide visit the monuments with us?
Yes. Your guide accompanies the agreed monument visits, following each site's rules. At Regaleira, external guiding is not allowed inside the palace or the Initiation Well; explanations take place in the permitted areas. Your itinerary and ticket options determine the areas you visit. Regaleira visitor rules.
Are monument tickets included?
With All-Inclusive, the team arranges tickets for the agreed monument visits. On Personalized tours, you buy tickets separately with our guidance. At Pena, we usually recommend the park and terraces, rather than the palace rooms. Coordinate the itinerary before buying. Use these official ticket links.
Can All-Inclusive start at our hotel in Sintra?
Yes. All-Inclusive can start at your hotel in Sintra, as well as in Lisbon or Cascais. Hotel pickup and return are included. We agree your addresses, pickup and finish during planning. Personalized tours meet in Sintra; private transfers are an optional extra.
Can we finish the tour in Cascais and return to our Sintra hotel?
Yes, on a planned All-Inclusive Full-Day. We can collect you at your Sintra hotel and finish the touring part in Cascais. Your driver then collects you in Cascais at the time agreed during tour planning and takes you back to your hotel in Sintra. The touring finish and the driver collection are agreed in advance.
Should we choose four or eight hours?
For your first or only day in Sintra, we usually recommend eight hours. Four hours works well for one clear priority and a selective route. All-Inclusive Half-Day includes the transfers within the four hours; Personalized Half-Day begins in Sintra. Compare the two durations.
What can we see in a Half-Day?
The standard starting point is one monument visit plus one activity, or three activities without entering monuments. The three Full-Day models above are not four-hour itineraries. Your starting point, travel, ticket options and walking determine the compact plan. All-Inclusive Half-Day includes transfers within the four hours. Neither Half-Day includes lunch.
Can we visit Pena and Regaleira in one day?
Yes. Our usual two-monument pairing is the terraces of Pena Palace and Regaleira, plus time in the historic centre. One coastal stop may fit if the route and timing allow. We do not assume a palace-room visit at Pena: the terraces are our default recommendation.
Do you guarantee skipping all queues?
No. We help coordinate ticket choices and entry times, but security checks and entrance queues may still apply. Thoughtful planning can reduce avoidable waiting; it does not make Sintra empty or override monument rules.
Is lunch included?
A traditional Portuguese lunch is included in Full-Day All-Inclusive, with your guide sharing the table. Lunch is not included in either Half-Day or in Personalized Full-Day. Dietary details are collected in the planning form after your deposit. If an essential requirement determines whether you can book, ask the team to confirm it first.
Can we include a wine tasting?
The Colares Wine Tasting covers four wines from the Lisbon and Colares region. It costs €35 per guest on Personalized and is included in All-Inclusive when chosen as an itinerary activity. The team selects a trusted venue to fit the route; Bar do Binho is one option.
The separate Signature Fortified Wine Tasting at Bar do Binho has eight wines. It costs €90 per guest on Personalized, or an additional €55 per guest to replace the included tasting on All-Inclusive. The two tastings are not automatically combined. Half-Day timing must fit the chosen experience.
Yes, within the time and arrangements you book. Tell us which places matter most, your walking preferences and the pace you enjoy. Ticket slots, opening times, weather and travel can affect what fits. Detailed itinerary planning begins after your deposit.
Which vehicle will we use?
A private electric tuk tuk is the usual Sintra tour vehicle. The team confirms suitable transport for your group and arrangements; a private car or van is used when needed, including for younger children. Hotel transfers may use a separate vehicle and driver. Your guide and the transfer driver can be different people.
Are children and older guests welcome?
Yes. Share your group's ages and any comfort needs before booking. Tuk-tuk experiences are generally suitable for children aged six and above; for younger children, the team arranges a suitable private car or van. We discuss walking, steps and vehicle access rather than assuming every route suits everyone.
Can we bring our luggage?
With All-Inclusive, the team can collect you with your luggage and leave you at your hotel afterwards. Tell us the number of bags, any bulky items, both addresses and your timing so the arrangement can be confirmed. Read the luggage planning guide.
What happens if it rains?
Tours normally run rain or shine, with suitable arrangements planned for your group. Rain covers and blankets help during a tuk-tuk ride; bring a waterproof layer for the visits. Official closures or severe conditions can change the route. Changes and refunds are governed by the operator's cancellation policy.
How do payment and cancellation work?
A deposit is required to secure the booking. Read the payment terms, the cancellation policy and your booking confirmation before paying. The applicable conditions can vary with the experience and arrangements. Ask us if you need clarification.
